Claire always had mixed feelings about the desert. It’s environment has been a bane and boon in all of her adventures. On one hand, she wasn’t personally a fan of its hot weather due to being used to colder environments, nonetheless the sand that blows in her face.
She had almost died in the desert a few times, with each one bearing a different reason and circumstance she rather not repeat as long as she was alive.
But....on the other hand...
It had its own beauty; Vast oceans of gold that changed in a variety of colors depending on the time of day. She had met a variety of people both within the desert and out of it, both not from here and others who were born and grew up around this environment. A variety of plants and animals could only be found here, too...
Speaking of animals...
...
The people from Aaru Village...said they spotted them heading south...southwest...
Under the shade of a bridge above her stood the ex-messenger, cloak hood over her head and her gaze turned down at her sketchbook, Somewhat shaky writing filled the top of the paper, but it was legible enough for her and anyone else to be able to read through it.
Four mercenaries...One...Aka-demi-yah person...and two people...not from Sumeru. Two Sumpter beasts...loaded with supplies...were with them, too.
Emerald eyes glanced up from the paper, scanning the sands touched by the sunlight. Almost sunset...
If I follow southwest, nonstop...then I should be able to reach them...but I need to-?!
It was small; a faint glint of the light. A darker shape that seemed to grow...moving...with ears?
No, not a beast...but a lone humanoid.
They didn’t look like any of the mercenaries she came across...or even any mentioned by the villagers.
But...who were they? And why were they heading her direction?
