♡ Random Alphonso Thoughts ♡

♡ He loves orange or lemon flavoured ANYTHING. Candy, soda, cookies and cakes, all of it. On that note, he has a sweet tooth to him and is constantly sneaking (and stealing) sweets in avoidance of the Sparrows often strict diet (which almost none of them follow and all of them know that too lol).

♡ Sunset and sunrise are his favorite times of day, to the point of getting up early just to watch the sun rise over the city. It's peaceful and lovely and he wishes he had someone to watch it with him...

♡ loves old movies, especially cheesy horror and classics and thus has a rather impressive movie memorabilia collection.

♡ Beyond Jayme, he's closest with Sloane and Fei. Sloane is a little protective of him, and he secretly likes her fretting a bit, and Fei is just really chill to hang out with. They don't talk really, she just randomly hangs out with him and then slips away.

♡ His favorite flower is honeysuckles, loving the scent and all the little insects that hang around them.

♡ Secretly, he's a romantic. Not in the roses and candles kind of way, his romance is softer than that. Keepsakes of your relationship kept in a shoebox, knows all of your favorite books/song/movies (and went through them all just to get to know you), calling every night just to check on you.

♡ beyond beer, he doesn't drink too much and even then, he rarely gets drunk. The man has a high alcohol tolerance.

♡ he's super observant and, even though he's not close to some of his siblings, he knows them better than they think he does. And he takes care of them in quiet ways, randomly picking up Marcus' favorite candy (because he was stressing out) or getting Sloane that book she mentioned (because she was sad again), just random stuff they don't think about too much.

♡ not the best at expressing himself, preferring to use acts of service and quality time as a love language. But he loves strong and hard and is loyal to the point of blindness. Secretly, he's a total sweetheart.

♡ has a great sense of humor. Self-deprecating at times and a bit sarcastic, but he knows how to make you laugh when you couldn't even smile and it's a great power to have. He can even get Marcus to lighten up and no one can really do that.

♡ suffers from claustrophobia, after an incident on a mission when he was a kid. Everyone knows, they don't talk about it but they make certain he's never in that position again.

♡ he HATES the stupid school uniforms Marcus still makes them wear, for God's sake, they're grown! It looks stupid!! But he still does it when he has to and dresses more casually when he can. He prefers loose, comfortable clothing, hoodies and sweaters and simple things.

♡ HATES HATES HATES fish/seafood of any kind, even the smell of it makes him queasy. Much prefers Italian, Mexican, and Chinese cuisine.

♡ he's a hand holder to the core. If he can't hold your hand, he'll get as close as he can, fingers brushing together for a brief moment, his hand around your arm or wrist, just...anything.

♡ loves music and likes to have something playing, often classic rock and love songs and folk. He especially likes Don McLean.

Alphonso // Bet that hurt, huh?

Drive // Alphonso Hargreeves x Reader.

Alphonso loved that car.

It was his dream car, a Volvo P1800 in a deep cherry color. Jayme had tracked it down for him and fixed it up as a birthday present years ago, after spending pretty much his whole life looking at pictures of it and dreaming of something like this:

The sun setting over the open road.

Some old love song playing on the radio, a cooler filled with beer and a basket of junk food.

No maps, no plans.

Just his hand on her thigh as they drove far, far away...

The car was real. But "she" was just a fantasy, someone Alphonso only ecer found in dreams. As romantic as he was deep down, the man had long since given up on the idea of true love...until he met you.

You were perfect.

The sunshine to his storm cloud, the sweetness to his caustic attitude, you were everything he'd ever wanted. Meeting you had been, well, a disaster, to put it simply. But loving you had come quickly and easily, and how could it not? You didn't care about the scars. You didn't care about his sarcasm and anger and hurt, if anything, you had a way of making it all better. Somehow you could look at Alphonso and see what so many others couldn't: a funny, passionate man who was far sweeter than his acidic tongue made him seem.

You loved him.

And he loved you too, all of his little fantasies coming true within sweet, perfect you.

"Fonso?"

The sound of your voice brought a smile to his face, turning towards the sound of it.

There, on the street, you were walking home, wearing that little yellow sundress he liked on you, an armful of groceries. And he was waiting for you, leaning against the car that he parked not far from your apartment.

"Let's go," Alphonso said.

"Where?"

"Anywhere. I just wanna get in the car and drive with you, honey."

So that's what you did.

The groceries in the back seat, a pile of beer and junk food, Alphonso just drove with you, wondering where to stop. That little pizza place you both liked, the motel overlooking the city, maybe a beach somewhere. Sunlight melted over The City, the sky overhead painted with melted hues, pinks and purples and orange entangled with streaks of gold.

An old love song began to play.

A rough hand came to grasp your thigh, squeezing softly as you leaned a little closer to him.

This was happily ever after, Alphonso decided.

Him and you, doing nothing but loving each other. Yeah, he loved the car, but Alphonso loved you a hell of a lot more.
