I think fandom experience would improve by a whole lot if people could manage to not make everything about shipping and instead recognize that there are other meaningful feelings and bonds aside from romantic ones that are just as valid and important and by always limiting relationships to romance/acting like romance is the highest of bonds reduces characters to a fraction of who they are, which in turn often leads to fanon versions that emphasize a few selected aspects of the character rather than allowing for deeper conversations and more insightful interpretations of the character in question
#obviously you can do whatever you want and also yes shipping is fun this isn't me being against the idea of shipping#but somehow people who focus more on shipping than anything else tend to ship fanon versions of their character and then get mad at canon#for being different#So this isnt even about any ship in particular as much as it is about all ships at large#Like idk how else to say this but most people don't even ship dabi with anyone because their version of dabi is way too ooc#to even be considered dabi anymore#mine#rant
