When sapphic fanart depicts characters in a highschool setting wearing seifuku, but one or neither character is Japanese, so you start thinking about like, the logistics of it.

Is it a deliberate culture swap? Is one character just a transfer student? Is it just the artist going for the "classic yuri aesthetics"? Am I thinking to much into things?

...

Probably a larger essay on how fanart uses cultural aesthetics could be made for this, but I have other things I need to do right now.
