The last film I watched in 2016 was The Force Awakens, and the first film I'm watching in 2017 is Singin' in the Rain.

There was once a man who stole the sparkles from my eyes, I stayed because I thought he'd give them back but instead he replaced them with water, Then he took the warmth I used to feel inside away and that's when everything went dark,  I left when it was too late,  I was like a broken ship in cold water just waiting to reach the bottom, I forgot what it was like to like myself,  And honey, I felt that way for years,  I convinced myself the world was full of people like him,  People who would push someone else under the waves just keep their  head above it all, But all I know for sure is this...  Healing starts when you stop looking for something to fix you,  It took time and it took tears but eventually I found myself again, I found myself on the nights I couldn't sleep,  I found myself in genuine conversations with people who gave a damn,  I found myself in beautiful words I never knew existed, I found myself in all the good things that are still left in this broken world, And someday you will too.
