"Cas thinks it’s a curtain call. Or maybe it’s trophic. Fast level pierces bright red and shattered glass. It’s vibrant and immediate, turns off the focus in his brain like nothing else. Like suddenly he’s consumed by chemicals. His perception is simply a biological symphony.

There are things that happen. They’re jagged fragments. There’s the way that the mountain frames the picture in shades of golden and green. The concrete is cold. Radio static is deafening."
