Something of a drabble request here: The next Doctor post regeneration has tattoos (a bit like the Corsair does) but these tattoos mark his/her previous companions, what tattoos do the 2005 onwards companions get?
Her story is picked out across her skin.
There’s a bright, discordant bunch of flowers spanning her left shoulder: roses, in a multitude of colours ranging from palest pink to deep red; and lilies, too, great stargazers and tiger lilies in violent shades of orange and fuchsia. Circling from her bicep to her forearm are the two snakes of Caduceus, garnet-hued, and looped around her wrist like a bracelet is an ouroboros, picked out in fiery shades of orange that flash like flames each time she moves her arm. A silvery-grey dog, mighty and impressive and with glowing red eyes, stalks between the snakes that lay in wait around her arm, appearing to take refuge behind their scales, and at its side is a wolf, shadowing its every move.
Spreading up and across her back is a raging flow of water that bisects her from left shoulder to right hip, the frothing water interspersed with tiny, almost imperceptible music notes, and across the blades of her shoulders are drawn a neat little pair of wings, although not of any kind that a human might recognise. They move and flex as she does, giving the illusion of flight, and across from them, spanning her right shoulder, there’s another visual deception; gears and technological components appear to be revealed, as though the skin were pulled back, and it’s only on second glance that you realise that the ‘inner workings’ are merely illustrated.
There’s another bouquet across her right bicep, of lotuses and jasmines in bright pinks and oranges, and below that is a thick bar of rainbow-brightness, stylised as watercolour splashes, and punctuated with a tiny black raven, captured in mid-flight and soaring across the crease of her elbow. There’s a ring around her forearm that has the illusion of a bookshelf, titles picked out in miniature font, and below that is a veritable cornucopia of fruit, which upon closer examination yields a concealed clock, painted in deft shades of bronze, and an eye, wide and hazel-coloured.
