🎄 CHRISTMAS TREE — what is your oc's favorite holiday?

Elouan's favorite holiday is Starlight! It should come to no surprise given his friendly and kind nature. He has fond memories of helping his mother get the Botanist's Guild and all of Old Gridania set up for some snowy, starlight fun!

🤍 WHITE HEART — what are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?

Three of Elouans' "questionable" traits are hard to pinpoint, let alone think on. I'd have to say one is very-well from his Bloodsands days: bloodlust. Elouan did what he had to do to make it in the Sands and stay afloat in Ul'Dah. Even so, there comes a point where the disgust and horror fades away for something more...cruel.

Another would be, ironically, his loyalty. He proves himself a steadfast ally for those he cares for. He'd do all that he can to protect and guarantee their safety, even when it means straying from cultural or social norms. Case in point? His best, closest friend is a heretic in Ishgard, someone time and again that proves what they both are in their core could get them killed.

Third trait? Most likely his kindness. If not for the reasons he is kind, but for how people approach it. Many people view it as a tool or a means of manipulation. When will the mask fall? What could possibly hide behind such a caring, selfless visage? In the end, however, the reality that he really is kind could be more disconcerting than comforting.

Elouan is right handed! Yes, he writes, draws, et cetera with his right hand. He has cousins in Ishgard that he is not on good terms with, however, if only due to being from the Shroud. Don't talk about 'em? Don't know 'em! He enlisted the help of a trainer in Ishgard to teach his chocobo, Soleil, how to fly. She's the standard variation imported to the major city-states, leaving her to learn what her Ishgardian kin innately know.

Elouan is open-minded when it comes to knowledge, learning, and otherwise discovering what there is. As a wayward soul, being open-minded is a must in order to truly appreciate his travels. However, his stubborn streak can arise when relationships, work, and feelings are involved. Nonetheless, he enjoys learning for learning's sake and loves to hear others' experiences!

Of course the loss of knowledge was hard to adjust to. Elouan’s hobby involved reading and otherwise expanding his own knowledge of the realm. To infiltrate a late library, renowned for its relics and tomes housed within its haunted halls? He’s both honored with the task and worried all the same. As the demon fell below and more lurked in the upcoming halls, he knew that their time here was limited. Elouan returned his gaze from the dark depths surrounding them to the former Ishgardian knight. One of Thordan’s Ward, no less.

Sore muscles and fatigued lungs were replenished by the small utterance of Noudenet’s, fueling the paladin’s energy for the rest of their trek. He bowed his head whilst taking a slow breath. Breathing grew easier under the steady flow of aether reducing the heavy soreness of his arms and legs. While not scarred nor gored, he had quite the weight to throw around and dodge the varying attacks at his life.

Ser Noudenet’s healing was welcomed, while unexpected. “I understand the preservation of texts, but we must focus on those upon the shelves rather than those attacking. I am much better now, thank you. I hadn’t realized how sore reading can make me,” he chuckled breathlessly, helping Noudenet up as the ebbing flow of aether finished its task.

He didn’t intend to drop by a Redbelly camp of all places, but when he noticed a stranger going closer rather than further, he needed to intervene. After steering his Chocobo over to the fray and dismounting in a fluid ease, he unsheathed his sword and parried the other Redbelly’s blade. Elouan’s height acted as an advantage, something that discourages those with more sense to them.

Redbellies, however? They had a decent amount in their numbers.

As the two dispersed and left he and Lore alone, Elouan cocked his head aside to register just what the Sharlayan spouted moments prior. A beast named Wasabi? What in the Twelve was going on? This creature, judging by Lore’s words, needed to be fed immediately. “I have no idea where this...Wasabi may be. But, we must stray away from the Redbelly territory. They, much like Goblins, do not take kindly to wanderers.”

Elouan looked over the tall Hyur once more, as though contemplating where he was heading from. It’s evident enough Lore’s not from Gridania. “Are you injured at all, sir? Come, let’s return to the path.” The Elezen native offered a gloved hand, smiling a notch, “Elouan Sauveterre, at your service.”
