While Bury Your Gays (the Chuck Tingle book) isn't my favourite book ever, it did highlight to me one character archetype that is extremely specific but that I personally adore. Characters who are both merciless bringers of death and who have casual conversation with their victims beforehand my beloved. Can you tell I liked The Smoker
Current dynamic I've been thinking about is one character who is intended for some greater purpose and a second character meant to shield them from harm until they can be useful, bound together by something that was added to their insides to make them perpetually aware of each other's location. The two have a good relationship until some sort of falling out and now both have to deal with the fact that they can still sense the other, all day every day. Forever.
Concept: a matrix/digital style world where before a person is "born", the machine must name them by randomly combining letters in an arrangement from 1-18 until it finds a word in the English dictionary
