“I’m home!” Elena called as she walked into the Gilbert home. She’d just gotten back from cheerleading practice and was starving. The Gilbert daughter made her way into the kitchen and pulled a bottle of water out of the refrigerator. “I’m starving,” she noted, closing the door to the fridge. “Are you making dinner or is dad? Because if you are I think I’ll order chinese or something.” She smiled through the insult. She could cook just about as well as her mother could, which was not very.

A year ago we would talk everyday, but now I don't even know how to say hey. You were my first real friend that I ever had, the first person outside of my family that I had talked to or hung out with outside of school related events in more than 10 years. You introduced me to a ton of new music that I really like and we used to have such an easy time talking. At least I did. I could tell you things that I was afraid to tell anyone else. You saved my life. You are the reason I stopped trying to kill myself. That day in theatre when we had our last show and you filled the light booth with balloons with such kind messages. And then you just hugged me for the entire show. I needed that. You showed me I couldn't give up. Not for myself, but for others. I don't know what happened along the way but I'm sorry it did. Even if we don't ever really talk again, you'll always be important to me and you'll stay with me in my heart and memories forever. But I hope we can be friends like we used to be. Stay strong.

Smart balance spreadable butter is now vegan! This is great! I can butter my bagels instead of putting oil and eating it flavorless. I never liked butter when I was an omnivore but it has its place in some of my foods. So yaaayy.
