I locked my heart away in a chest,

To keep it safe from harm,

I hid it away from the rest,

As a tattoo on my arm,

Then you strolled into my life,

Unknowing the toll I’ve paid,

And without knowing gripped the knife,

That other people have laid,

So when I hand you the key,

To open a lock unknown,

Is it hard for you now to see,

The stars and moon jealous of your smile,

If only they could light the sky,
