you don’t know him well, but you do know of him. while your focus was single-minded, it’s hard to completely miss the side players.
much less one of the side players who ran you over with a chariot.
(no, you don’t hold a grudge for that. what’s done in a fight to the death by default is fair enough, though you were surprised at how much it hurt. oddly enough.) he has a kingly air (though it’s no match for your king, but of course not, no one is) and from what little you have heard secondhand of his ruling methods, you like them. you think he’d be a fun king to work for.
rider is noble, but human. that makes you... jealous, a little, that he is a king with that ‘humanity’ that was rent from yours. his guise is one you still remember how to take, should you need to (because it was unpleasant, you did not want to defame him, and maybe that’s most of why allying with the priest annoyed you). tall as you, when few are, broad and boisterous and powerful. wearing his form is oddly similar to how you would imagine gawain’s would feel, ill-fitting, sun-burnt (sun-warm?), and powerful in a way opposing your own.
you’d apologize, maybe, if you ever felt the need to say it aloud or if it came up, that you had to claw your fog into his shape, but you doubt it’s something he would care about or that you would mention without prodding.
