Jasper: Noooooot a good one… He’s very much the sort of parent who would expect his child to take over the family business, so to speak. From a young age he would encourage them to find an interest in the arts, and try to teach them everything he knows about his craft. But even then, he wouldn’t be a kind mentor either. More so the sort who constantly uses his own achievements as a standard for success. As they grew older, he would be the sort to constantly ask them about how their art was progressing, perhaps ignorant of any effort on their part to pursue other interests. Aside from that, he’d probably be a warm yet emotionally detached sort of parent. He strikes such an odd balance between self-obsession and apathy, that this is a general problem with him. I think he’d truly love his child, but it’d be difficult for him to express such feelings in a genuine matter. It’s simply not who he is. As things stand, he’s not even necessarily capable of truly loving another human being. Still, all of this could vary greatly depending on who he married. By the time such a thing were to occur, he might become a very different sort of person. Likewise, they’d no doubt have a big role in raising their child as well. Anyone with a more forceful personality than him could easily talk him down on many points, and he probably wouldn’t bother to fight it all that hard.
Garnet: Someone exciting, or someone with an equally skewed moral code. If the two were combined, all the better. It might be a simple answer but honestly, someone who could both command his attention as a writer as well as display a propensity towards moral ambiguity would be ideal for him. They’d also be the sort of person whom he could most easily fall for.
