The longer time goes on, the more certain Miriam becomes that she may be stuck here for awhile. It’s not the greatest thing in the world, considering that she’s been separated from her siblings and son, and that the normal support of the compound that was no longer propping her up. After a bit more than a month, she’s found that this is lonely and frustrating and more than Miriam feels willing to hand in isolation.
So, today, she’s standing outside one of the animal shelters in Terra, staring in the window at a pair of cats snoozing in a sunbeam. This isn’t her speed, but keen ears catch the sounds of further excitement inside, and for that, Miriam is more than a little excited.
However, she pauses upon nearly smacking into someone who’s closer to the door than her, and Miriam blinks owlishly.
“Oh, sorry. Were you trying to go in? I think there’s only one person giving tours, so maybe it’s good that we’re together, makes it easier on the staff.”
