He narrowed his eyes, but his lips curved upwards at the same time.  Nachos must have been a muggle thing.  Or American.  Which he was neither.  Except he was too afraid to admit that he didn't know what they were.  His hand lifting behind his blonde hair and a hesitant mind, he asked,

             ❝ Ah, nachos.  What are those? ❞

To say that it was a surprise that he recognised one of the patients at the hospital was a bit of an understatement.

Shadowing doctors, while interesting, had never been something that held Oliver's attention for long, and it wasn't uncommon for his brain to start drifting a little as the fully qualified doctor he had been paired with rattled off information and data and questions at the speed of sound. Oliver could keep up – hell, he could keep up easily, after countless nights of studying his notes almost until the sun came up – but he still found himself getting distracted once he was a few hours in, and today was no different.

His paired doctor had been cheerfully asking the patient a few questions while Oliver scanned her charts, but at the sound of her voice he glanced up, head tilted to one side slightly. He recognised that voice, he was sure of it, and after a few moments of desperately trying to link her face and voice to one in his memory it clicked; they had been at the same open day at the college, and had definitely bumped into each other a few times between lectures.

However, they couldn't stay in the room forever, but Oliver nevertheless gave her a swift smile before he left, contemplating returning during his break. She might appreciate it, he thought, seeing someone she recognised. And so it was barely an hour later that he was back, knocking on the door a few times before cracking it open.

"Um, hello?" he asked, poking his head round the door.
