Being a dad is a hassle, but it’s something that does genuinely bring Date joy. He certainly didn’t ask for it, but saying he didn’t want it or that he hated the responsibilities that came with it would be a lie. Of course, if Mizuki saw their relationship in a light as positive as him was another matter entirely.
...Which is actually why he was now at the supermarket (and avoiding Costco for the time being. Something about that place felt cursed at this point), because Mizuki wanted smiley fries and he wanted a reason for her to not expose his browsing history think of him as a good parent.
The smiley fries are proving a little difficult to find, but Date eventually locates the right section, and is scanning the cases for what he needs when--
“Oh wow, you’re pretty.”
Shit, what???
He bluescreens for a hot second, trying to fix this.
“Tall. Pretty. Tall. Pretty long--hair? Uhh--Do you know where smiley fries? The smiley--fries--I. I think you’re--in front of--They’re for my daughter.”
@forebodingfall is the love of my life and what’s gayer than being gay folks!
