I've never been a lyrics make me like a song kinda gal (if itsa bop itsa bop, w/c is why i never got into ts) but as a poet, hozier's lyrics always leap from the musical landscape and grab my shirt collar to make me listen to and engage with the text in a way that no other songwriter has done before. He's made people read and dive into Dante and Irish mythology goddamnit. If there ever was a better singer songwriter in his age it's HIM. More so, the texture of his music, which unabashedly draws on a lot of genres that he also rightfully honors and hearkens back to (ie not in an appropriative way) makes for a complete and richer experience of musicality thats lacking in modern (pop) music. There's more to the enjoyment of music than relatability and the warmth of a parasocial relationship folks!!!! (this is an express comparison to the average ts enjoyer which i also am so dont come at me)
Wearing my Hozier shirt. My grandma asked if it was Jesus.
Oh, don't mind me, I'll just play Hozier to make things Cozier.
Spent 10 minutes in my English lit class today talking about the power of Hozier's lyrics and I regret NOTHING
Why does Hozier's music feel like coming home and it's so COMFORTING LIKE HOW FOREST JESUS HOW DO YOU HAVE A SONG FOR EVERY MOOD
