GFW Beta Version

Just last week I read an article on BBC about an online tool that tracks deforestation near "real time." I just checked it out on the Global Forest Watch website. It's quite neat, just like Google Earth, as it uses the software with different variables. The resolution is great because you can zoom and pinpoint where there's forest loss and gain. There's also several other variables that you can choose to view, such as Forest Use and Forest Cover. There's lots of other choices in those areas that you can visualize on the map.
