Forest Monster boyfriend mate headcanons
Listen, I know it could be darker, but I felt rotten and cute at the same time; it is what it is.
Let me know if you would like part two - because I got ideas. Also, let me know if you have any other creatures you're interested in, I'm open for request.
Warnings: Kidnapping, gore (he eats anything with flesh on it, and there's a lot of leftovers, okay?), it's not that bad tho, mostly sfw Wordcount: 913 Note form Rogue: It is soft, surprisingly soft. For now. Might write an actual story out of it, I don't know yet
He kidnapped you, to be honest.
Listen, I'm not judging. I would let it happen, too.
Smelled your scent in the wind, got conflicted once he saw you.
Felt them cute, might eat them later
But as soon as he heard you scream, he knew you won't become supper.
No, there was no way.
He felt it, he knew it, he smelled it - you were the one, his mate.
It made him feel weird. For a moment, he forgot he was a cannibalistic evil spirit.
You fell to the forest path, your phone flew away somewhere, flashlight on
He saw how freaked out you became, seeing him in the darkness of the forest, so he got on all four, hoping it would make him less scary.
It didn't work
But since he didn't pounce at you, you became freaked out and confused.
So he inched a little closer, so slowly that for a moment, enlightened by your phone, you thought that he was not a monster, just a very, very weird, gigantic puppy.
With a deer skull for a head
With sharp teeth, rotten meat stuck between the canines.
And antlers.
Okay, he was not a puppy, but he seemed as timid as scary.
He looked at you with milky, white eyes, more like marbles where his eyes should be
You could see his breath coming out from his empty, bony snout in the chilly night air.
Eventually, you let him close enough that you could touch his skull, almost gently stroking it
And that was it. That was the biggest mistake (it was terrifying at first, okay?)
Because now he isn't stalking you, he has you.
He got up quickly, with inhuman speed, and scooped you up like a lost kitten.
You thrashed, kicked him, tried your best to get away, screamed - all for nothing.
Hell, he even looked down at you, and you swore you heard him purring???
Like he was trying to get you calm down, like you were just overreacting it
He carried you home, deep into the forest.
Your heart sank, and you knew it was over when you saw a cave; the darkness of the forest itself seemed to suck inside of it, like a void
He carried you inside, and the only light you had was his eyes and the full moon shining through the cracks and holes of the rocks above you.
And the stench - fuck, that was the most awful smell that ever got in your nose.
He put you down, and you felt something soft under you.
You tried to make out what it was, and it felt like...
...fur.
Slightly wet. Fur.
You already felt nausea hitting you, and he was just sitting down not far from you, looking at you in the almost absolute darkness.
You tried to talk to it, but you weren't sure he understood
The only answers you got were just a few growls, whimpers, purrs and clicks (is this guy related to the predator or something)
It wasn't until dawn (pun intended), that you finally got somewhat used to the smell.
Don't get me wrong, it was still awful, but your brain was too tired now to really acknowledge it.
He crawled to you, on two legs, but slightly crouching, like he was doing his best not to startle you too much.
Well, he was still horrifying, but tried at least, and there was something... You couldn't even think of the word, but cute? In the way he tried to be less intimidating?
But he then presented you a half-eaten, rotten fucking deer leg.
And that's what tickled your stomach enough to make you puke on sight.
(Oh no, just not on the carpet, I mean, furs)
(Okay, you managed to crawl a little further, nice.)
He tilted his head, and an almost disappointed whine left his lungs.
(Eat it, you monster, you made the rot puppy sad >:( )
You didn't eat anything, and although the circumstances, you somehow dozed off.
You woke up and were surprised that you weren't dead.
The thing didn't eat you.
Actually, he was curled up a little further away from you, like a cat curled into a cinnamon roll
Maybe this was your chance?
You slowly got up, careful not to wake him, making your way to the entrance.
You already saw the light, the trees outside...
Sunshine finally touched your skin as you reached the entrance.
When you heard that whine again.
You turned around, and there he was
You didn't hear him approach, or getting up, he loomed behind you like a ghost
On all four, dancing on the blurry line between the sunlight of the forest and the comforting darkness of the cave
He was looking at you, whining.
Pleading.
He sometimes reached out to the light - it didn't seem to hurt him, but he seemed afraid.
It was unnatural to him, to the creature of the night.
You stood there, hearing his desperate, almost pitiful whines, claws scratching the rocky ground.
And strangely enough, you felt something tugging your heart.
You don't know what kind of curse was sitting on your shoulder.
But it felt wrong to leave.
You took a deep breath, clean air finally filling your lungs.
And you turned back.
He whimpered, like a puppy, and as you stepped back into the darkness, he circled around you like the most affectionate cat.
Whining, praising you for choosing him
For choosing your mate.
