Around the time of the mountain king’s return, Amma’s call grows stronger. The trolls in mountain territory grow restless, and most circles become even tighter knit against outsiders as conflict becomes more common.

It’s the perfect environment for trouble, and when he eventually does return, many choose to follow him.

When Forest was little, she couldn’t speak human. She spoke troll just fine, and through magic she could understand humans, but she couldn't interact with them at all.

She started following humans she found in the woods at night, most often a couple that went on frequent nighttime hikes and camping trips on the weekends. She didn’t talk to them, merely listening to them talk and copying the sounds on her own.

She found it to be pretty lonely, but she liked seeing how happy they were.
