Catrina smiled softly, kissing the foreheads of her sleeping daughters. She took one last glance at them, Celi cuddled into Kore before turning off the light. As she made her way to her room she was stopped, feeling a hand on her shoulder she smiled “Amor” she looked up at her husband who smiled shyly “Catrina, will you follow me?” he took her hand, peering into her face. Without missing a beat Catrina responded, “I’d follow you to the end of the world if you asked me to.” She chuckled when she saw Theo blush, a mumbled “No fair” left his lips as Catrina laced their fingers, taking a step towards him “Shall we?”
Theo nodded, leading Catrina out of Ramshackle dorm, heading towards a clearing in the forest. “Close your eyes” he spoke softly, Catrina raised an eyebrow “Theo?” “please…?” She giggled a bit and closed her eyes, feeling him let go of her hand. Theo moved behind her, hands on her shoulders as he gently led her. They continued to walk before “Open your eyes.” Theo leaned down next to her, making his wife squeak. Catrina opened her eyes, about to turn around to talk only to have her attention shift to the sight in front of her. Catrina took a step forward, hand covering her mouth as she looked around with childish curiosity. It was a simple set up, a blanket on the grass, candles for light. But above seemed like thousands of glittering stars. Catrina looked up, spinning around. Theo had to stop himself from chuckling as he walked toward her “I thought we could use a break from work and have some time to ourselves” he took her hand again, leading her to the blanket.
“Theo, it’s beautiful. How did you find this spot? I thought I knew every part of this campus.” She looked down at him as he sat, sitting next to him as she leaned her head against him “Think of it as one of my stories from when I was a student.” He smiled at her, wrapping an arm around her. Catrina sighed happily, “How did I ever get so lucky?” she put her hand on his cheek “I could ask you the same thing.” He put his hand on hers which made her laugh “I never could have imagined this” “You were so afraid of me when we met” Theo laughed as Catrina blushed “I-in my own defense you can be quite scary…” she mumbled, pouting a bit.
“Oh? Is that right?” He chuckled, leaning closer to her “Scary enough to make you run away whenever you saw me?” He continued to tease his wife. “N-no fair…” Catrina stuttered, blushing more as she shyly looked at him. He smiled at her blush, leaning his forehead against hers. Catrina jumped a bit as she felt the cold against her “Now look at how we are.” Theo looked into her eyes, for a moment he contemplated kissing her but instead pulled away with a blush. Catrina giggled, taking his hand in hers “Thank you” she smiled, watching their rings glitter in the light “Before you I was so certain the world was such a cold and evil place…” Theo frowned as he turned to fully face her.
“Love was the scariest thing of all, it only hurt…” she looked down, seeing the faint scar under her ring “Catrina-“ Theo started “But… You showed me that love is real, you showed me the good things in the world” She started to tear up as she kept talking “I hated the world, despised it for all it put me through… But even with all the pain I went through I wouldn’t change a thing.” Theo put his hand on her cheek
“Because everything I went through lead me to you. I wouldn’t change that for the world” She gave a closed eye smile as tears streamed down. Theo pulled her close, hugging her tightly “Jeg elsker deg!” She hugged back, smiling softly “Te amo…!”. The couple stayed like this for a while, Catrina enjoying Theo’s presence as she sniffled. Soon there was a faint sound that slowly got louder. Catrina perked up a bit, listening in as Theo tried to find the source “Music?” She tilted her head a bit, hands on his chest “Shouldn’t the students be asleep by now?” He grumbled a bit only to be interrupted by Catrina humming, softly singing with the melody. He blushed as he listened to her, it was a rare treat to hear his wife sing. Catrina closed her eyes as she hummed swaying a bit with the song. She wiped her eyes as she stood up, singing more confidently as she spun and swayed with the music. Theo would watch, Catrina in her own world before she reached out her hand.
“Dance with me?” she giggled as his eyes widened “Please, for me?” He blushed “You know I can’t say no to you when you do that…” he shook his head as he put his hand in hers, standing up. Catrina giggled happily as she wrapped her arms around him, the couple swaying to the melody. Catrina hummed along as they moved, Theo occasionally spinning her. As the song reached its end Theo dipped her, taking Catrina by surprise. He smiled down at her acting confident before Catrina leaned up, giving him a quick kiss. His eyes widened, pulling her up quickly so he wouldn’t drop her in his surprise. Catrina giggled into his chest as she hugged him, feeling him grumble “C-Catrina…” he looked to the side, keeping her against him so she couldn’t see his blush “I can hear your heart beat~” she teased him, voice muffled “H-hush…” he pouted as he tried to calm down.
Catrina continued to laugh against him, listening to his heartbeat. Once it began to calm down, she stepped back from him. His face was still pink as she hummed happily “Catrina…” he frowned which only made her more amused. “I think they were right.” Theo raised an eyebrow as she spoke. Catrina took his hand, bringing it to her face as she nuzzled into his palm “Cold hands, warm heart” she kissed his palm “Catri-…” He started, trailing off as he tried to figure out what just happened. He stammered, trying to talk as his face went more and more red. “Oh dear, I may have broken my husband” she giggled.
