16-year-old Michael Jackson's 4th studio album was released on 17 January 1975.
Less a "dance" record than Dancing Machine (released in September 1974) recorded by the Jackson 5 (and which contained the hit single title track), Forever, Michael was more of a "soul" record, and while it received positive reviews, it failed to match Jackson's previous success (the album peaked at #101 in the US).
Forever, Michael was Jackson's final album for Motown, and his final solo album for 4 years, when he returned with Off the Wall.
