special death -- roman&violet
Roman was determined to pretty much hate anyone that would marry Olivia Godfrey. Most days he even thought his own (and now deceased) father was an idiot for doing it. But when his mother got her hooks in someone it was over for them. This was something that he knew well enough. This guys came with a load of baggage to, and apparently a daughter who was to be he and Shelley's new sister. Shelley of course, was overjoyed at the idea of having a sister, but she found joy in most things. A trait that he deeply admire and felt was nigh impossible for him to achieve.
We're getting off track here though --
The Godfrey heir was being sat down to another insufferable family dinner. Ben was was talking about some work thing that Roman couldn't bare to give more than two shits about. When his attention was asked of him from a short tempered Olivia, Ben tried to sooth her and looked at Roman.
"Look, I'm not going to try and replace your father - I know that I could never do that," oh god, he was using his shrink voice. Roman rolled his eyes, "But I would still like to be part of this family, can you respect that Roman?"
More for Shelley's sake than anything else, he complied, "Good, I hope you will also extend the same respect to my daughter, Violet, who we've invited to stay for the summer, for the wedding," We, we?
Who was we, you mean you and my mother. Shelley gave a small squeal of joy and Roman sighed exasperated, "As long as she doesn't take my room," he said, which earned him a look, "Thank you for this lovely dinner, I'm stuffed," on bullshit. With that he got up and left the table. Tomorrow when the girl arrived, he knew he would be expected to provide her with some sort of entertainment. All he could do was hope that she wasn't too annoying.
