Tom had a good run with movies. Everyone has bad ones in between. And as far as reviews go for both Cherry and Chaos Walking, I think the consensus from all critics is that he gave his best with the given material. In general, I think that reviews and critics got better at differentiating between actors, directors and scripts when discussing movies. Tom‘s effort and acting stands out in the reviews and that is probably the light at the end of the tunnel in this whole rating mess.
the thing is tom’s “good” movies are mostly the marvel movies he’s been in. the ones where he’s trying different roles are unfortunately getting bad reviews and that’s what I hate to see. yes the critics give him praises, but the general audience isn’t going to look at a movie rated 15%, read every single review and think “oh the performance is good so I’m gonna watch it for that <3” because I deadass wouldn’t watch it either had it not been tom in it. the critics know he’s a good actor but lord I just want the audience to understand that too
