Humans have such a fascination with their own peril.
What other reason could they have for continually coming to this place? Thankfully, most of them weren't very interesting to the denizens of this place--indeed, for the most part, those were quiet spirits, preferring to be left in peace. And so the typical reaction of the house's tenants was to chase off anyone who came in groups--unless the denizens really felt like teaching them a lesson, a few nightmare images were usually enough.
Yet it continued to happen. Groups of children wishing to prove their bravery, foolishly coming here--they could almost laugh. But no matter how many--one, or a couple, or a whole crowd--they'd meet with something terrible, a fright or a worse fate. And every once and a while, a guest or a few would meet with them, wherein they would provide the same uncanny smile, the same cryptic advice--it was all they cared to do, considering that what the residents did to those guests... well, it was none of their business, particularly.
No, the one called Cyber was not like the rest who lived here.
The door creaked open and they opened their eyes. Had someone else found their chamber? Yes, they felt a human presence here now--it would seem that the tenants were playing again. Well, at least their room was one of the... less dangerous of them.
"Ah, so a lost soul's found me, hm?" They stood up from their chair, putting their book aside. With a swivel and a flourish of their hand, making their coattails billow nicely, they asked, "What may I do for you, child?"
