I bet I can answer that riddle! In an introduction to a later edition of the book,"Alice in Wonderland." It's author Lewis Caroll, addressed the issue, saying "because it can produce a few notes, though they are very flat;and it is never put with the wrong end in front!" In the original preface,"never" was spelled "nevar" which is "raven" backwards.
Nicely said! I’ve heard that answer before but couldn’t remember the exact wording haha I could’ve looked it up also, but yeah, that’s really cool and poetic ^_^ I like thinking/reading about that type of stuff, especially readings that can go ambiguous to interpretations!
