Forever with you girls. Blackjack forever.
Dear Queens,
Thank you. Thank you 2NE1 for empowering so many young girls. Telling us we are the best. That we can be who we want to be. Fuck what anyone says about us, we’re the baddest female. Thanks for making great music, putting on amazing performances and inspiring us. Thanks for being one of the groups that introduced me to this world called kpop. Thanks for letting me become a blackjack and forever a blackjack.
Goodbye,
until we meet again.
2NE1. Legends.
Újabb szomorú hetek a kpop történelmében. Sajnálom, hogy így alakult. Ők voltak a legjobbak. Sok szép emléket hagytak maguk mögött. A legjobbakat kívánom nekik. Köszönöm 2NE1.
2NE1 rant
2NE1 wasn't the first Kpop group I heard, that spot belongs to TVXQ. However, 2NE1 was the first group I became a fan of (love to TVXQ but their music is not my style). Let's go back to the summer of 2012 for a moment. My family and my family's friend + her daughter, who's my childhood friend, were going to a circus. They arrived earlier and my childhood friend (who I will now call J) and I watched some anime on my computer. That's when J suddenly lights up and goes: "I have something to show you!" She puts on FANTASTIC BABY by BIGBANG and then CAN'T NOBODY, a 2NE1 song. To be honest, I didn't like it that much in the beginning, I kept coming back to listen to it because I really, really liked Bom's voice and fell in love with the song eventually. All of a sudden I spent days listening to their songs on Youtube and became a Blackjack. If it wasn't for J, I probably wouldn't have become a Blackjack so early. TVXQ may have been my first ever Kpop group back in 2010 but their music is not really my style, but I obviously respect them a lot. Today I listen to a lot of girl groups but between the years of 2012-2015 I wasn't that into other girl groups, I was part of the fandom of...3-4 groups?? Something like that. And in 2012-2014 I was listening on and off to Kpop groups and came more into the alternative world (Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, Bring Me The Horizon and so on) but 2NE1 was a group I listened to along all this time. Needless to say, 2NE1 has always been and will always be the group with the most meaning. They brought me into the Kpop world which I'm forever grateful for. I'm also grateful to be alive now to experience such a group. Side note: even my parents like this group, Come Back Home is basically our anthem. Don't get me wrong, today I love all of those classic songs by SNSD, 4MINUTE and KARA (for example) but 2NE1 is just...different from all other groups that were popular back then. I feel they have a more...strong independant woman vibe and I appreciate it. When I feel weak or anxious, I put their music on and feel so much better. They have been with me through better and worse and they will continue to be. HUGE thanks to members of 2NE1, Yang Hyuk Suk, Teddy, and all staff members and back up dancers who made 2NE1 such an amazing group. Even though YG treated them kind of horribly after the accident in 2014, I got to thank him for creating them. As said, THANKS TO DARA, MINZY, CL and SPECIAL THANKS TO BOM who's voice got me to go back to CAN'T NOBODY and fall in love. Bom - even if a lot of people question how I can look up to you, you'll always be one of my biggest inspirations for getting through the hell you got thrown on you, by both public and your own record label. #FOREVERWITH2NE1
