Almost 2 weeks ago @youngblackntassled and I drove about 300 miles north of Oxford to drop off the many donations you all collected in support of our #ForFlint initiative. Dionte whipped up a video to bring you all along with us for the trip. Again, there is still an incredible need in Flint and we're already planning to create another opportunity to get more water to them. In an effort to provide some type of relief for the residents of Flint, MI we are hosting another #ForFlint initiative where your donation serves as your admission into the event on April 1st! We are accepting both monetary and obviously water donations and we just hope to have a good time while doing something bigger than ourselves. In April of this year, it will be 3 years that Flint, Michigan will be without clean drinking water. It’s wild to imagine that less than 400 miles north of us, people cannot shower, cook, or drink water without the risk of being sick. Every little bit helps so we wanted to host another #ForFlint event providing temporary relief for the residents in Flint, Michigan. It’s a party and the only catch is that you bring a case of water to serve as your cover into the party (lol it’s still free but the donation is highly encouraged). The last event we were able to collect about 80 cases of water and the people at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church were extremely grateful for the contribution so we’re hoping to match or exceed what was collected back in October. Come out, tell a friend, tell someone in your sorority or fraternity, connect with someone in your organization, or get some of your co-workers on board. Back in October I was kicking it in my apartment with @youngblackntassled & randomly blurted out that I wanted to do some type of service project for my birthday. We thought about it for a second & decided that it would be perfect to get water to Flint, MI. Planned a bit and in a couple of weeks #ForFlint happened. Instead of a cover charge, people donated water for admission and also showed love with monetary donations. A huge thank you to everyone that donated man. LYLAS, Alpha Phi Alpha the Miami University Chapter of NSBE, the Office of the Deans of Students at Miami University, the ODA, Walmart, and the many other people that contributed. My bro @__rocky06 really looked out and did an amazing job helping to collect and organize. Another huge thank you to @trashbandycoot for rolling to Flint with us to unload. There's still a need up there and we're planning something else so that we can have the crazy turn up while filling a need. Friday was beautiful. The fact that we had people literally bringing cases of water to the bar made my night lol. Huge thank you to everyone that contributed to #ForFlint and another huge thank you to my brother @youngblackntassled for again pulling ideas out of me and us coming together to do something bigger than ourselves.
