If there's one thing I know I love about my face, it's my chin. There are more, but I always remember feeling proud of it. I'll tell you why...🍃 ▪ When I was quite a little girl, my mom decided she wanted her own life, to be on her own, and on the rare occasions that she did come to visit, she used to sneer at me and say my chin was just like my dad's, and I didn't really understand, but I could tell she was being mean. 🐏 ▪ I didn't talk much in those days, so I'd lift my chin a little higher and give her that sly look that said more than words could ever say, because I loved that man. He was such a kind and tender human, and I thought, well, if someone is going to hate me for looking like someone so wonderful, I'm going down proud as a peacock. 🌠 ▪ Sometimes, I would tell my dad about the things she would say, and without fail, he would always tell me that I'm beautiful, not to let anyone ever make me believe otherwise, and as much as you wouldn't blame him for some verbal retaliation, he would say that she doesn't understand what she was doing, reminding me not to let that affect my love for her. 🌹 ▪ This is my journey.
