despite what he does know about everything surrounding emma’s life (alternate, unlived realities & all), hook is still taken by surprise when the dark one pulls him in for a kiss. it’s been a rather successful night for the pair of them, both having moved a step closer towards their separate-yet-still-connected revenge plots, & the air between them is a little less dour than usual.
but this is far from anything he’s expected from her at this point in their allyship.

Emma gasps when realizing, too late, what she has done. Or more accurately, who they are, and that this isn't right in this universe, in this new life. Even the darkness shut the hell up, she can't feel the little voice in her head suggesting evil or selfish acts, and the Dark One's face is void of deception, no control in her expression, only shows shock and fear and longing. But even so, they weren't kissing-buddies when she was Emma Swan either, were they? But clearly, they were meant to be, if not interrupted by that reality falling apart.
