Besides the fact that I accidentally slept until almost 5PM today (really not happy about that), this weekend has been one of the best of my life.
On Friday night, I went with Laura, Rachel, and Younghee to Tivoli, an amusement park in Copenhagen, because this is the last weekend it’s open for the season. Also, Nik and Jay, a famous Danish hip-hop duo had a concert there that night. I had so much fun. Tivoli is such a beautiful place--the decorations are on point and the lights are gorgeous. And it was really cool to be around so many Danes (they all wanted to see Nik and Jay). It was also just nice to have fun with my friends without the pressure of drinking and being super social. Although Laura and I got Irish coffee and it had 3 shots of whiskey in it, which is just too much whiskey. It did not taste very good, and we had to chase it with chocolate haha. All in all a really great night.
Then Saturday, Laura, Younghee, and I went on a long biking adventure to look for the “6 Forgotten Giants,” which are these giant sculptures made of local scrap wood that are hidden around the outside of Copenhagen. It was so much fun, and all the parks and beaches we biked through were breathtaking. I was just really happy and content the entire day. Being in nature with my best friends in a great place is where I’m happiest. We were all so exhausted by the end of the day (the whole thing took about 6 hours) so instead of going out we just bought some wine and chocolate and hung out at home. It was a relaxing night.
I also just feel so lucky to be in Copenhagen right now. The city is so cute and there’s so much nature all around. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the semester has in store for me, but I highly doubt anything will be better than this weekend.
