I whisper in Spanish A song from a forgotten lullaby Tapping on the table in front of me While childhood memories Tap into my very heart I hum the melody As my mother did years ago Playing with the chorus Almost as if I were 5 again I could become more childlike Than I already was Although the song tends to do that It plays with my heart strings As much as it does with The strumming of an acoustic guitar It’s as if I were 5 again I’m trying to remember the words Let alone pronounce them And so I start to hum again Tapping the beat Of the Forgotten Lullaby
