Isadora's Journal Entry
Fanfic, they’d call it. But if someone ever found Isadora’s journal— The one she wrote after Davika left her for a man?
It might’ve read something like this:
———
Oh Davika.
You left me for a man.
What was so special about him?
You know this was a betrayal, right? I saw you walking into the library with him. Holding hands.
And the second you saw me— that perfect little smile of yours died.
It was like you’d seen a ghost. Maybe you had. Maybe I still haunted you in the places he could never touch.
I want to say it didn’t wreck me. But then I spent the whole night crawling through campus, digging for dirt on your new flame.
Oh, and please don’t insult either of us by pretending he satisfies you.
He’s vanilla in a paper cup. I was the banana split with the gold-dusted cherry on top.
With me, you screamed like the world was ending.
Tell me you forgot.
I dare you.
