Mala Suerte || Kisuke & Szayel
forgottendeceit...look what I finally got done
Szayel led the fellow scientist with the shady hat into his lab. It was a gesture of goodwill on his part, a extended offer of friendship to the man who had once been a captain of soul society. Szayel would show Kisuke his labs, and Kisuke would share things with him in return. While the prospect of new technologies made Szayel salivate...bringing someone into his lab, his home, made him feel a tad...would he call this feeling shy?
He was the best scientist in Hueco Mundo, certainly the sexiest, and he really wanted to pull out the ol' razzle dazzle, with all of his heart. But Szayel's luck was absolutely horrible, it seemed. When he had left to greet Kisuke, his latest creation of fraccion had gotten loose and went berzerk, demolishing several months worth of experimental data collection in the surrounding room. And then when he'd gone to eat the offending hollow to at least rid himself of the goddamn papercut he had sliced into his thumb in gathering back up his paperwork, it had made him horribly ill, and he had to excuse himself while he puked his guts out into one of the auxiliary sinks. At least he had a toothbrush in the cabinet so he could clean up afterwards without any delay.
"I'm sorry, this has been a rather unfortunate day for me," he said as he rejoined his guest's side. "I'm sure you'd like to see some of the storerooms. I'm sure you know of the work I pioneered in necromancy...that somebody stole when he went through my lab after he killed me. My preliminary research is over here."
He opened a door. "I did my preliminary work on very tiny hollows, just to eliminate confounds in my experiments, not even low level arrancars."
He gestured for Kisuke to walk through, and turned on the light. The door closed behind them, but that didn't bother Szayel. He had the key in his pocket.
After he pointed out the work with the long dead hollows that were now preserved in aldehydes and displayed in their little jars, he tried the door to leave. Right...the key. Szayel fished in his pocket for the master key to his lab...but all he found was a hole. A big fat hole that now had his pocket completely empty.
He checked the cracks around the door, but he had built this room so that if anything had decided to try to escape...it would stay in the room until Szayel felt like dealing with it. He turned to face Kisuke and smiled sheepishly.
"It would appear that we're locked in. I'm sure someone will come looking for me eventually, at the very least my brother will probably come by in a few hours. I suppose this is a unique chance for us to get to know each other, is it not?"
Szayel tried to project an unflappable aura, and he thought he was succeeding.
"I suppose it could be worse, couldn't it?" he said cheerfully.
As if on cue, the lone bulb above their heads burnt out. Yes, the universe apparently really didn't like Szayel today.
