Today is Independence day. And every year this day we look back at the things that we endured for this day. The freedom struggle, partition, horrible massacres. And then comes this place. The pain, the mental and physical torture prisoners or rather the freedom fighters had gone through is beyond our imagination. The mere stories of this place brings goosebumps. I wonder if I can even do justice in explaining this place. I clearly remember on my visit here I tried to stay in one of the cells for 5 minutes and they seemed like eternity, let alone talk about life time. I wonder how they did it with no possible human contact and nothing to look forward to. When talk about independence we talk of incidents like Jallianwala Bagh or partition but somewhere forget this place.
