(2) ‘It,’ By Any Other Name...
It.
I don't know what to call 'it.'
It should be simple,
Slap a label on, like a sticker on a pantry jar;
Compartmentalize and tie up with a neat little bow,
Box shoved back in a corner of the closet,
Behind the umbrellas and hats.
'It' is this hell I'm living.
Fire licking at my heels &
Coursing through my veins.
Snap, crackle, pop,
Full of heat and electric charge;
Constantly smoking, singeing, burning - changing.
'It.'
Perhaps an evolution of mind;
Mind over body.
Or perhaps an evolution of body;
Body overcoming mind.
A twisting of the soul,
If there is such a thing.
Is there?
Maybe 'It' is all that is tucked away
Into the dark corners and the forgotten places,
Covered in dust and
Warped with time,
Weeping melancholy with the present.
Never allowed daylight.
But, the soul.
