i think they aimed too young. like, yeah the stories were for rick’s kid, but honestly no kid will willingly sit there and learn a bit about greek mythology unless all that action and fun stuff was involved. which they didn’t include..

that's weird, though, because they aged all the main characters to be like 16.

i really just think that since rick wasn't involved with the movies (apparently) the director and screenwriters decided to go crazy and just try and make it their own version and that's just

you don't do that with book to movie adaptations.

they're literally given the whole script already, all they have to do is change the paragraphs into stage directions really

jamie and robert, count me in, i don’t care what it’s about ahaha. percy jackson was quite a disappointment but i still wish they would’ve finished?? does that make sense?

robert's a total babe ugh (and actually seeing him in this movie honestly makes me go "umm that's the same fucking kid from misfits??????" because wow. and also his accent pokes through so fucking much)

and omg the kid from the airbud movies is in it too! >:D i was like "djnfjsfngjfngfdg" when i first watched the movie and saw him c:

i feel you on that.

like they could have redeemed themselves with the second movie and rebuilt the fanbase (movie-wise) and they would have been able to finish the series perfectly fine.

but nope.

idk like i watched the movie before i read the book

and i mean, it wasn't too different, I think. I mean there were tons of minor things that, when I finally rewatched the movie after finishing the book, I was like "that's wrong."

but then there are also a few major things that i was like "whut." like a few parts were straight up percy jacksoned and it made me sad.

but it's a really good movie, especially when you don't compare it bit by bit to the books c:
