The Fork Road Cliché
The luxury of choice is not entirely easy. Just at the beginning of my career path, I am at a fork road. Both paths are too vague for me to see what is waiting ahead. I am too lost to know which path I want to walk. Either one I pick, I am afraid of regret, I am afraid of making the wrong choice, I am afraid of losing the opportunity/time, because I know I will no longer be allowed to complain as the choice is made by me. These two paths may not be completely divergent. They might bring different experiences, and they might or might not lead to the same destination. I like what John Green talked about in his Ted Talk. Look at it as drawing a little bit more land, instead of crossing hurdles. No matter which path I choose, I will be embarking on a journey of learning, despite the different scenery. So, is there so much to lose? Is there so much to be afraid of?
Maybe not so much after all.
