“Is this town and time usually this strange?”

One of the most frustrating things about the spell that had settled over the inhabitants of Forks had to be the dulling of the senses. Over the centuries Carlisle had become so used to his heightened senses that it now almost felt as if he was constantly walking through a heavy fog. “Oh, forgive me!” He exclaimed, narrowly avoiding colliding with the other vampire. “Terribly sorry about that.”
Alec was trying to use his mist on a vampire, but nothing came out. “What the hell?”

“You really have a knack for choosing when to make arrival.” Carlisle chuckled. It was refreshing to see another friendly face in town, even with everything that was going on. “How have you been, Liam?”

“Is anyone home?” Carlisle called as he shut the front door behind him, hanging his car keys up on a hook. “The strangest thing happened earlier - well, it’s still happening really.” He began, setting his briefcase down and shrugging out of his jacket. “Everything was fine and suddenly it was all fuzzy. Perhaps fuzzy isn’t the right word. Dulled sounds more accurate.” Was it just him?
