They want to know all of my favorite things.

I don’t know how to tell them that it’s all them.

There’s nothing in my head anymore except the seeds of love they planted there.

I’m waiting for them to blossom like our love.

A garden of daisies and sunflowers and peonies, all for them to pluck.

Loving them is different than loving anyone else

It is gentle

And it is natural

And I have never felt so sane

As I do in our mutual insanity

They are beautiful

And it is so tragic

That I have no idea how to be quiet

When they need it

Because I want them to know every thought I have

I think way too much

And I think way too fast

And I guess what I’m trying to say is

Coherent thoughts are not my strong suit

Especially not when I’m with them

My new Favorite Planet and my new Favorite Person share a name

My planet’s surface is Red

Like My person’s hair in the sunlight

Or the blush I inspire on their cheeks

They are both so close but so far

And sometimes I think

I could make a home on both of Their surfaces

And so if ever I am asked about my Favorite Planet

I will say

“I am quite particular to Mars”

I have a lot of weird phobias

Like fireworks

Or Mylar balloons flying away

Or cotton balls

I have some that make sense too

Like heights

And the ocean

And seeing my grandpa naked

But the one that scares me the most

And arguably makes the most sense

Would have to be losing you.
