Originally "Cavalairo" or "Cavalaira" was a small land dependent on the vast area of Jean de Cossa of Baronnerie de Grimaud. Cavalaire subsequently remained a locality attached to Gassin, until the inhabitants obtained its administrative independence in 1929. Today Cavalaire is a city young and full of life. It is a seaside resort of international renown which year by year attracts more and more visitors. All indulge in the pleasures of the beach, street entertainment, discovery of the heritage but also the various sports activities offered by the city: scuba diving, sailing, walks on the trails, hiking in the Massif des Maures . The dynamic image of Cavalaire is very real. Beyond tourism, it bears witness to the identity of a constantly moving city. The City's environmental concern and ambitious planning and major projects reflect this dynamism, which attracts new residents every year.
