So I didn’t have a reference, which is probably for the best with this kind of thing, because I wanted it to resemble the original but still look like something I would have designed were I left in charge of this character. Meaning that most of what I did recall about PW was purely from memory haha but I enjoy how it came out!

I really like drawing puppet/doll OCs because they always wind up at this line between cute and uncanny valley levels of creepy, though I put PW a little more towards the creepy edge. I got to thinking mostly of old wooden puppets, with their hand painted features and simple clothes, and to imbue her with “magic” I figured the crystal/gem eyes were a fun touch.

“You have funny ears!”

Ravenel popped up the little boy, fascinated by the potential of another child. She didn’t get to see very many back home when she was in the palace, and for most of her memories, the little princess found she was usually around adults. Seeing someone who looked her age was very interesting, and prompted invasive and blunt questions and statements.

“Can I touch ‘em? You can touch my ears, if ya want! Mine are kinda round and stuff, but yours are fun.”

hey dont know if you remember me, but used to be a fan of your mudscamps blog in the good old days, funny enough i dont even use tumblr anymore, but  i saw some adventure time rerun on TV and it made me nostalgic so have some fan art
