on the topic of converting from christian tradition/religion: i was raised, baptized, and confirmed catholic. if i seek conversion to judaism, would i be required to seek a formal excommunication? technically it’s automatic, but to get taken off of catholic records is a hassle and a half, and i’d have to go hunting through old documents to complete the process. but if it is required, i will do it.
