For a lot of us the answer is never but right now is the time to change that because in this election we are also voting a new Mayor of Miami-Dade County and ALL of us who care about equality, the environment, and the economy must come together and support Daniella Levine Cava. @levine_cava has been working on the right side of issues for her entire career. In 1996 she founded @catalystmiami, an intersectional organization that to this day works to identify and collectively solve issues facing South Florida’s most marginalized communities. As a County Commissioner for the last six years she’s taken action on climate change, police accountability, government transparency and so much more, whether or not it was politically popular. Her opponent is a career politician with no vision beyond the status quo and an official position that “all lives matter” (as well as refusing to acknowledge systemic racism [source: @miaminewtimes 9/16/20]). We believe that an area as fantastically diverse as South Florida DESERVES a Mayor like DLC who has plans to lift EVERYONE up and has already pledged to establish an Office of Equity & Inclusion. We’ll talk more about issues in the coming weeks but here’s the important part: AS OF TODAY THERE IS ONE WEEK LEFT TO REGISTER TO VOTE. If you are already registered now is also a great time to verify your State AND County registration to make sure your name's spelling, address, birthday, and signature all match.
