They had saved each other time, in which Tristan had met somebody else and had tried. For what? He wasn’t sure. Now they were standing next to each other, having brought this up just because a mutual friend reminded them of the times they spent together, being more than just friends but nothing more than just that, too. “Nothing was really there.” he said, looking at them as he put some sense to his thoughts. “And we’re better off this way.”

Away away

The bag fell down on the other side of the rock wall with a low thump. There was no one to hear the sound though. Lucille looked around the second her own feet touched the ground and she was outside the mansion’s park area. The autumn air was thick with smell of rotten leaves and fog that dampened her hair curling the blonde locks even tighter than normally. She picked up the bag and began walking down the road, where the promised getaway car was waiting.

“Drive, I don’t want anyone to catch us here.” She said the moment she sat down, the bag left in the trunk. It’s not like she couldn’t walk out of her own home. But maybe ditching her own engagement party could be read as an insult to the man her father wanted her to marry? “...arranged marriage, pffft. We’re not in the middle ages...” She rolled her eyes again like she could ever get over how ridiculous the idea was.

Rosalie was half asleep when she heard some tap against her bedroom window. She opened her eyes, and waited a moment before hearing it once again. Frowning she sat up, the heel of her palm rubbing her eye for a moment as a soft yawn escaped her. She’d gone to sleep irritated, angry and sad tears finding their place on her pillow. The culprit? Well it seemed he was outside tossing rocks against her window and so she opened it up only to whisper. “What’re you doing?”

        Frankly, Manuel didn’t count on Lexie to show up. It was easier to not get any hopes up than getting disappointed. Though... yes, deep down he of course would find a part that was naive enough to believe she’d break with her habits. His reason knew better and drowned it out for most of the time. He scooted a little to give her enough space on her side of the couch and let out a long breath. ❛❛Yeah. Cute cards. Thrice a year at least❜❜, he told her flatly without taking his eyes from the TV.

        The weight against his shoulder was so familiar. And the times that he felt it became fewer and fewer the past weeks. He got used to the busy times when Lexie would show up and the longer periods when she was gone, and Arturo never got tired to remind him how miserable he felt when she left for the first time and how worse it would get. Maybe he was right, who the hell knew. Eventually, Manuel side-glanced at Lexie, then moved his arm around her shoulders. ❛❛C’mon. Shut up, will ya? I told you its fine.❜❜
