“We’ll be sure to buy an embarassin’ large bouquet of red roses for you, one of us each, mind you, and cheer you from those nice seats openin’ night.” His words coming with a smile to tease and a chuckle as Faye lightly smacked his arm. “We would n o t,” she had tried to insist but Keith knew better, merely raising a brow and gave her a look that made her back down with a laugh — what a laugh — and of course she nodded, “Okay, maybe we would. Honestly we might even break some of the petals and throw ‘em on stage if we could.” Causing him to laugh, seeing that perfectly in his head. “Aye, bein’ more honest now, aren’t we?” Looking over at Dora with a smile, “She’s bein’ honest now.” Maybe it was a bit bold of them, assuming this date would go beyond a second one, much less attending a play for Dora as well. But he liked her, and he could so easily tell Faye liked her too. Licking his lips and squeezing her hand, he felt a bit more confident than his wife, perhaps, but when the chemistry was right, it was hard to not think positively on the experience.
Dora’s words were never more true, the married couple exchanging a look, a smile, and Keith couldn’t help but lean over and give Faye a tender kiss on the cheek. A soft hum as he looked upon her wide smile, cheeks just a hint of pink that made his heart melt. “Aye, feelin’ very us is very important, the most important thing anyone can do. It’s kinda easy for us, not a lot of people could say that.” He smiled, watching Faye’s hand rise up and caress his cheek, turning his head to kiss at her knuckles. “Y’know, there was a time where I didn’t think Keith could handle me. Thought he was just the boy next door that I was corruptin’ and any minute he’d try and saddle me with the traditional side of things.” That made him chuckle, “Oh, I remember… Maybe you did corrupt me, though…” Looking over at Dora, he explained, “We were young when we met, I had a bit of a narrow minded way that I think life should be… Then I met Faye and it turned to…well, this. Can’t imagine it bein’ any different.”
“Nor me,” Faye had said, which made him smile even more. Both had turned to Dora, though, the topic of the wildest thing they’d never tell a soul coming up, sexual or non-sexual. “That’s a tough one…” he let out with a soft hum, looking over at Faye in deep thought as well. He couldn’t help but let his lips twitch, “You’re just strugglin’ with the non-sexual bit, aren’t you?” The near snort coming from her told him she was, making him chuckle. “I knew it. Okay, okay. I’ll handle that one, then….” He let out a hiss of breath, “Erm…” he scratched the back of his head, thinking deep. “God, that’s hard though! We’re so…fuckin’… We pretty much just say anythin’ so any deep dark secrets is like….” Faye had grabbed his arm, “Aye, that’s why I’m strugglin’!” He nodded, and then like that, he thought of something. “Oh. Well… I mean, it’s not that we’re embarrassed by it, but…. When we’re drunk….and sometimes not even… And it’s, I mean, yeah when it’s late…. We’ll do some karaoke type stuff…” Oh god, he heard Faye let out with a laugh. “And like, not the cool stuff, obviously, not traditional cool. Like, your 80s type ballads….and ABBA, lot of ABBA. Like just utter nonsense kinda singin’ that our neighbors never questioned thank god. We never tell our friends ‘bout it, or anyone else, ‘cause we’re just a bunch of absolute loons doin’ this, I dunno if that even counts but, I mean, there it is.”
Dora laughed at his words, feeling her cheeks gain some color even though she was aware they were only teasing. She couldn't help but feel a warm sensation over the image they just put on her mind. Even when she lived freely, she was still a romantic at heart, and watching the way Faye looked at Keith, and Keith looked at Faye, only made Dora want to know more. Want to see more, too.
Maybe it was too early to secure a second, third or fourth date with the couple, but she didn't mind. She knew, if they allowed her, she wouldn't want to not be part of their life. They were fun, spontaneous - refreshing, even. Not to say both of them were goddamn attractive. They shined in their own, and Dora got the impression they shined even brighter while together. She couldn't help but smile at every word they said, every interaction they had - every little detail and gaze they shared.
"It counts. Of course it counts." Dora replied with a giggle, her eyes going from him to her all over again. Only then she suddenly got aware of how natural it all seemed - the smiling, the laughing, the hearing, the sharing. "And I think it's freaking adorable," she added, chuckling lightly. "Thank you for sharing. Might... even, sometime, someday... join you, if you're up for it. I know my ABBA songs way too well," she shrugged, before she offered them again a smile. "Now... I'm curious and I have to ask. But please, don't feel pressured to reply." she said, eyeing them both one more time. "How did you end up here? And by here, I mean, with me. How did we end up here?"
