They have always been here, and will forever be, the Fornmir are the children of the goddess Vathea. And are charged with the sacred task of defending her lands from corruption. Fornmir are known as the first ones, as every other race came to be well after the Fornmir had already been in full bloom. They are a pragmatic, staunch race, but they are not without pity or compassion. As the goddess teaches the value of all life, and the sanctity of nature. But over the years, and the harsh wars with the Valhaer, the Fornmir have had to grow sharp thorns to survive in the world and maintain a hold on their lands. All Fornmir are created by a magical ritual that only the elders of a village know. Thus things like coupling and mating are very foreign concepts to them. The closest thing Fornmir have is the bonds of battle sisters, but even that is different. All Fornmir are broken up into 4 ‘branches’ or aspects of life: Seer, Keeper, Guardian, and Warrior. Each one serves a specific role in Fornmir society. Seers, born with gold eyes, are the diplomats, magi, scholars and advisors. They are known for their wisdom, patience, and curiosity. Keepers are the workers, tenders, merchants, and builders. They are born with grey eyes, and are responsible for building and maintaining everything in Fornmir society. Guardians, the green-eyed commanders, are the stalwart protectors of the Fornmir lands. They are the Ranger-Generals. Warriors fight the battles for their lands. They are born with red eyes, and are the rarest of the castes, as Fornmir have not had cause to go to war for some time. Fornmir society is mostly made up of self-sufficient villages, with the Rangers, Wardens and Druids acting as independent armies that patrol the lands and garrison high-value areas. Of all the races, the Fornmir are the most magical, and they are the only race that know how to cultivate and shape the valuable mineral Aethercite.
