Dark Souls 2 Vengarl Taking one of Freja’s Two Heads.
I haven’t come across lore that explains why Vengarl’s body is in Brightstone Cove Tseldora, next to The Duke’s Dear Freja (Giant Spider).
I just found it an amusing juxtaposition to have a wandering body with no head and a spider with two heads in the same area. I like to imagine that his body was on a mission to find a head, any head, to make himself whole again. So here’s this painting, Vengarl staking claim on one of Freja’s heads.
It’s also very entertaining to kick around Freja’s head when she dies (if you attack the same head with enough repeated damage, it will fall off). Probably one of the very few instances of rag doll physics left in Dark Souls 2.
Also, goodbye Dark Souls 2, for now. Stay tuned for some Bloodborne art soon!

New Beginnings
The forossan knight was getting tired. Not just physically, but mentally too. The years of constant warfare in his homeland of Forossa were beginning to take their toll. As Ullr lay in bed, he heard the sudden toll of a bell, and the unmistakable droning sounds of the war horn. Time for yet another battle. It had gotten to the point where he wore his armor to sleep just to be ready. He rolled from his bed, flipped up his blue and gold hood, grabbed his two axes from their place on his wall. Lastly, he took down his bow from the wall, and regarded it with a prayer to his ancestors who wielded this bow before him. It was carved to resemble gazelle horns, said his father when the weapon was handed down to him, just as the animals are swift and graceful, so is the death that this weapon entails. He slung his quiver of iron arrows over his shoulder and hurried out the door. His neighbors were all already standing around, listening to the captain's orders. "These barbarians shall not take our home, go men, array on the fields of Kremmel, and meet them in battle!" The small army of about 50 men charged from the town down the hills towards the barbarian hordes. After one glance from the top of the hill, Ullr spotted at least a hundred barbarians. But that meant nothing to him. Humans were paper targets to Ullr. His axes were the deadliest weapons to ever be held. His skill was unmatched. As the two armies clashed with one another, Ullr vaulted over the first line of enemies, right into the center of the horde. He swung his axes at the enemies and tore apart three with a single strike. The barbarians saw this and began to back off from him. Ullr sheathed his axes and in one expert maneuver, had his ancient bow in his hands, and arrow nocked. Ullr fired off three shots before he felt that something was off...a tingle up the spine... When a jolt of pain so hot and sharp he felt like his back was being dumped into a blacksmith's forge. His vision darkened. He watched helplessly at the barbarians, but they were not cheering, they looked mortified, and he understood why. A foot, so black and large it looked like a tree, stepped past his body and swatted a dozen barbarians like flies. His eyes went back. When he came two, he was in the middle of a circular shrine. Grass grew a meter tall around it. He stood up and examined himself. No wound, but his chest was a terrible shade of green. He looked at his own reflection in his axe. White eyes. Green, rotten skin. Undead. undead......
