Today, we pressed through January rain and fog to Kalamazoo Michigan, to visit our favorite print rep Jason at Superior Colour Graphics.
Being that we generally imagine how brands live in the digital landscape, when we do print. We do it right. A few lessons for your next press check, from your pals at The Forest.
Rule No. 1: How to Sign Off
This is how you sign off on a press sheet.
Rule No. 2: Check Once, Check Twice, Check Three Times a Lady
Don't screw this one up. It happens all to easily. When you've got autocorrect at your fingertips at all times. Things like this can get overlooked. Check once, check twice, check three times a lady.
Rule No. 3: The Greatest Men are Pressmen
Treat these guys with respect. They've been around. They know some things. Like, how to make your half assed design look like it was drawn by a golden pencil award winner. So ask them questions. Like, what would happen if I threw a watermelon into the Heildelberg. The answer will blow your mind.
Rule No. 4 Wear a bullet proof vest.
Pretend like you just walked off a spaceship, and you know nothing of the land before you. Treat everyone with respect. Ask questions, did I mention that already, ask a lot of questions. And be interested. They take a lot of interest in your work. Remember these people save your ass. So wear a bullet proof vest at all times. You'll are bound to have to take a bullet for them, because the numerous times they've came through for you. Your company. And your client.
