He’s almost certain that anyone who saw him would call him crazy. But it was dark, and the graveyard was empty. At least, there were no living people to be found. There were ghosts floating here and there, but most were ignoring Forrest, except for a few that were watching, waiting to see what he would do. He didn’t blame them, because if he were in their position, he would be watching, too.
Hands were in the dirt, and in reality, he had no idea what he was doing. It felt wrong for him to be here in the first place, sitting in front of the stone that had Charlie’s name printed on. He had been there when he had died, had probably been the reason he had died, and he couldn’t stop thinking about that. It had been all he had been thinking about for weeks, as they went through the funeral, and he met with friends and family. As people told him how sorry they were for his loss. It was his fault.
And now he was here, and he wasn’t sure what he was doing. Hands were in the dirt, not enough time having passed for grass to grow yet. Revival was not something he had attempted, not something he had thought of until now, until he had spent days going through books in the library, websites on the internet that were probably meaningless. But he needed this. He needed Charlie back, he needed to do something to make up for the fact that this was all his fault.
All of his energy is being put into the dirt below his hands, and to everything below. Words are muttered, though, he doubts they’re going to do anything. He’s just trying anything he can, anything that he can do to get Charlie back.
